1988 was the year of the Rave. It was the year that the landscape of dance music changed (according to us).<\/p>
The seed for Original Ravers came about after seeing a print of C90 tapes at an exhibition. It brought back so many memories of the humble origins of the rave scene.<\/p>
And then a friend who was clearing out his loft, sent me a picture of the rave tapes he still had after all these years. We wanted to create a T-Shirt to commemorate that time, the life, the purity of the scene and the love of the music.<\/p>
The mix tape was how DJs got gigs, how clubbers kept the music alive inbetween raves, how music got passed on. Not everyone had decks for vinyl, but everyone had a tape player. We recorded music from pirate radio station broadcasts, bought dodgy tapes from the blokes outside the clubs, recorded our mates versions when we had run out of cash.<\/p>

The Rave scene changed music forever. That time will never be again. But yet, it bonds us like glue. Even if you have never met someone before, when you find out that you've been on the same dance floor something happens, it clicks and you know a little bit more about that person than you ever need to explain.<\/p>
<\/p>
Original Ravers seeks to celebrate this. To evoke the memories, remind you of the places you loved, danced and lost, the souls you met, the fun you had.<\/p>
<\/p>
We are a new clothing brand, we are evolving. We have partnered with a fantastic clothing partner who prints on demand, so we don't have any post-production waste. Where possible, clothing is made with post-consumer material or organic cotton.<\/p>
<\/p>
We want this is to be as a collaborative and circular an economy as possible.<\/p>
<\/p>
